Staunton, March 13 – Repeating the
arguments of the two other teips, the Gagiyev clan posted on its Facebook page
an appeal to all its members not to participate in the referendum on the
changes in the Russian Constitution. Comments appended to its announcement have
been overwhelmingly supportive (kavkaz-uzel.eu/articles/347042/).
Apparently in response and out of a
desire to discredit these traditional subgroups of Ingush society, all leading
Russian government news services played up a story about an armed clash between
two of the teips that has left one dead and several wounded, including a
policeman who had to be hospitalized (rbc.ru/society/13/03/2020/5e6bb42a9a7947c56faf20e8
and newsru.com/russia/13mar2020/ingushfight.html).
Meanwhile, silovik continued their
searches in two homes in Sunzhe, actions that they told onlookers were required
to track down those who had used force against the police in the March 2019
protests that the authorities have wrapped up into a case about the formation
of an extremist group (kavkaz-uzel.eu/articles/347026/).
