Staunton, Nov. 12 – Moscow is spending nearly 300 million US dollars a day on the war in Ukraine. For that amount, some Russians observe, the country could cure all the seriously ill children in their country or build three new hospitals. But Russians living under Putin aren’t interested in doing that; instead, they want to kill others and some of their own as well.
That is just one of the new anecdotes Moscow journalist Tatyana Pushkaryova has assembled in her latest collection (publizist.ru/blogs/107374/47136/-). Among the best of the rest are the following:
· The Russian command in Ukraine has found an effective way of shooting down Ukrainian drones. They just put targets in the way of the drones and when the drones hit them, the drones are destroyed along with the targets.
· A new riot broke out outside of the Bolshoi as people stood in line to get tickets for The Nutcracker. One can only imagine what a crowd there would be if the theater was showing Swan Lake, traditionally played on the death of Moscow rulers.
· Some Russians are wandering if there is life after death – or if in fact, there isn’t any life there either.
· It’s long past time for Russians to forget about the Constitution. It no longer matters.
