Staunton, June 14 – After the Wagner PMC showed how successful recruiting those behind bars could be, AvtoVAZ reportedly has announced that it to will seek to attract convicts to work at its plants to produce more cars. Soon, Russians say, the media will be encouraging people to commit crimes, be confined, and thus help save Russia.
This is just one of the anecdotes Russians are telling each other about the strange reality in their country that have been posted online by Moscow journalist Tatyana Pushkaryova (publizist.ru/blogs/107374/46058/-). Among the best of the rest are the following:
· Men coming to schools in military camouflage and promising children medals if they do what he wants remind some Russian schoolchildren of the pedophiles they have been warned about.
· Putin has made another geographic discovery. He says that “Russia is no longer part of Europe. It is entirely in Asia, and that’s the end of the discussion. As part of this discovery, he has decided to renamed Siberia Xi in honor of the Chinese president.
· Local officials who complain they can’t pay bills because of how much they are having to send to support the special military operation in Ukraine. Those who do may soon find themselves falling out of a window or at least listed as an unwanted foreign agent.
· Russians who left regions near the border with Ukraine to escape attacks are now returning. And they have been shocked to discover Russian soldiers in their homes who have left these places more or less destroyed. Some complained that the Russian soldiers had stolen things like ATVs, but officials tried to calm the situation by pointing out that the residents had no need for such things.
· Those who have lost a loved one in the fighting in Ukraine want to know why their sons and husbands have gone to kill and instead Ukrainians are killing them. This isn’t the way it is supposed to be, they say.
