Federation Council Committee Identifies Nine Threats to Russia

            Staunton, October 10 – Russia’s Federation Council Committee for the Defense of State Sovereignty has identified what its members say are the nine main threats to the Russian Federation emanating from abroad that Moscow must now take action to block (nazaccent.ru/content/25628-senatory-nazvali-razzhiganie-mezhetnicheskih-protivorechij-odnoj.html).
                The nine are:
·         “Exacerbation of inter-ethnic contradictions and conflicts and the encouragement of protest actions on an ethnic basis in the republics of the North Caucasus, the Volga region, and Crimea,

·         “Creation and support of NGOs to take part in politics in the interests of foreign states.”

·         “Financing of educational programs for control of this sphere.”

·         “Use of media and social networks to discredit the country and the powers.”

·         “Exacerbation of inter-religious tensions.”

·         “Stimulation of protest agendas and the involvement of young people in protest actions.”

·         “Interference in elections.”

·         “All types of anti-Russian sanctions”

·         “The denigration on the world arena of Russian political and economic life.”
