Sociological Data from Kazakhstan Widely Available Online

            Staunton, Oct. 25 – For those interested in the evolution of post-Soviet societies, former Soviet republics represent a tempting alternative to the Russian Federation where the gathering and publishing of sociological information is becoming ever more difficult as Vladimir Putin makes doing so ever more dangerous.

            Despite widespread assumptions, Marat Shibutov says, Kazakhstan offers a wide variety of sources for such data and makes it possible for researchers to study phenomena there that cannot be easily studied in Russia or its neighbors.
