Staunton, Nov. 15 – As the editors of the Grani portal note, “the colonial war against Ukraine is accelerating the decolonization of Russia, and the grotesque ‘annexation’ of four Ukrainian oblasts along with the pitiless mobilization is bringing the end of the Russian Federation closer.”
They continue: “Ukrainian initiatives in defense of the captive peoples of Russia has called for a stormy reaction. National activists in exile have become significantly more active, and the theme of the disintegration of the Russian Federation is now being actively discussed by Western experts” (graniru.org/Politics/Russia/Regions/m.286379.html).
Events are taking place so frequently and in so many places that it is virtually impossible for anyone to keep up. But to help them, the Grani editors are compiling a chronology of developments in what they describe as the current “disintegration of Russia.” Their first installment lists 69 items for the last two months alone.
In my articles on Window on Eurasia and in Jamestown’s Eurasian Daily Monitor, I have covered many of these developments; but they are now coming at such a rate that it is impossible for anyone to keep up. Grani is thus providing an invaluable service, and all those who are concerned about the future of that region should rely on it.
