Russian Occupiers Behaving Like Terrorists with Kidnappings, Deportations and Targeted Executions, Ukrainian and Western Sources Say

Paul Goble

Staunton, May 26 – Ukrainian and Western experts say that “in the territories of Ukraine they have seized, the Russians are using terrorist methods – targeted reprisals, mass deportations, filtration camps and torture,” the Grani portal reports on the basis of a survey of the evidence (graniru.org/Politics/World/Europe/Ukraine/m.285201.html).

Its review of what Russian forces are doing – and there is plenty of documentation to be had (windowoneurasia2.blogspot.com/2022/06/ukraine-has-documented-more-than-11600.html) – may be incomplete; but it is certainly devastating and should make it clear to all that no compromise is possible with this horror, just as no compromise was possible with the Nazis.

Not only does that make Russia a terrorist state subject to international condemnation and isolation, but it generates among Ukrainians an even greater anger and will to resist. That is because in a situation from which no escape is possible, terrorism may an effective way of rule; but in one where resistance is encouraged, it is its own gravedigger.
