Kyiv Behaving Treacherously by Driving Out Russian Troops without Announcing a Counter-Offensive, Russians Say

Paul Goble

Staunton, June 6 – Kyiv is behaving in the most treacherous way possible, Russians say. It is driving Russian troops off the territory of Ukraine without bothering to announce the start of a counter-offensive. Such lack of consideration cannot be forgiven, they add.

That is one of the latest anecdotes Russians are currently telling each other that have been assembled and posted online by Moscow journalist Tatyana Pushkaryova (publizist.ru/blogs/107374/45984/-). Among the best of the rest are the following:

·       According to some Russian patriots, Moscow allowed the Ukrainians to shell Belgorod not from weakness but out of the goodness of its heart.

·       The defense ministry says the attacks on Belgorod are not critical, don’t affect the special military operation, and will be resolved within the next three to five months. Precedent suggests that Moscow will in fact need eight to twelve years in Belgorod and another 50 to 80 years in Ukraine.

·       When Patriarch Kirill approached Rublyov’s Trinity icon, the figure closest to him stood up and bowed. Everyone now is afraid that if Putin makes a visit, the entire image on the icon will simply fall off.

·       Now that the defense ministry has introduced absentee mobilization, Moscow can be expected to organize absentee marriages. Those entering into them will be able to see a photo and information about gender, age and wage on the personal account of the State Service website.

·       The Putin regime operates on two principles: It knows that fools can’t be taught. But it also knows they can be paid.

·       The Russian General Staff has now released a new training model: How to Lead the General Staff without Attracting Prigozhin’s Attention.

·       Russia’s lag behind the West is the product of the unfortunate fact that in that country, 90 percent of all chickens lay their eggs with the blunt end first.
