Church Bells Can Stop Ukrainian Drones – and If They Don’t, Russians can Do So by Pretending to be Dead Bugs, Some Believe

            Staunton, Sept. 6 – According to the latest anecdote circulating in Moscow, if monks ring the Pskov-Pechorsky Monastery bells, that will produce a vibration in the atmosphere that will ensure enemy drones will go off course. If that doesn’t work, Russians say, they can also avoid drone attacks by pretending to be dead bugs. No one will target those!

            This is just one of the stories Russians are telling each other  as they attempt to comprehend the realities around them. They have been collected by Moscow journalist Tatyana Pushkaryova (publizist.ru/blogs/107374/46707/-). Among the best of the rest are the following:

·       Having arrived in heaven, 19^th century Russian satirist Saltykov-Shredin is told he can have anything he wants. He says he wants to know the future of Russia and whether he is remembered there. Not only is he remembered, the apostles say, Russians are trying to realize his vision of their country.

·       Lenin’s prediction that eventually even cooks could rule the state seemed too fantastic to be possible. But recent actions by Medvedev and Prigozhin show that Lenin was in fact a prophet.

·       The Russian space agency has come up with an important invention. It described everything as being possible “after 2030.” Soon that idea will be spread to everything else in Russia.

·       Russia is now celebrating victory day over Japan, a country that now has an average income of 2331 US dollars a month, compared to Russia which has one of only 723 US dollars.

·       Moscow has real problems talking about Ukraine. After all, its Jewish president has just named a Crimean Tatar as defense minister in a country that Moscow insists is Nazified.
