Putin Shouldn’t Linger in This Life, Russians Say; His Closest Friends are Waiting for Him in Hell

            Staunton, Aug. 31 – Vladimir Putin shouldn’t linger in this life, some Russians say, given that so many of his friends are already in hell where he undoubtedly will be going. Kobzon is singing songs; Zhirinovsky is telling his inappropriate jokes, and Prigozhin is warming up dinner for all of them.

            This is one of the latest Russian anecdotes assembled and posted online by Moscow journalist Tatyana Pushkaryova (publizist.ru/blogs/107374/46679/-). Among the best of the rest are the following:

·       The American media write about homelessness in the US, and the Russian media do the same – covering homelessness in the US. Thus it can be concluded that the media have the same freedom of press.

·       Russian courts are sentencing people in absentia ever more frequently. This is a form of voodoo, trying to harm those Moscow can’t read. The Kremlin should extend the practice: executing all its enemies in absentia and then declare victory in Ukraine.

·       The Kremlin says it is quite willing to provide planes to any dismissed officials who want them but so far all of these people have been turning the offer down.

·       In the past, Russians were afraid that NATO soldiers would come but now they are afraid they won’t.

·       Those who say that NATO attacked Russia via Ukraine may end up in prison; but if it is a Russian one, they will be diagnosed as absolutely sane.

 

            In addition, there is one story circulating which is not an anecdote but certainly qualifies as anecdotal.
