Staunton, February 11 – Moscow is
recovering from a massive snowfall, and both its residents and its officials
are struggling to clear the streets. One
resident has come up with a way to get the snow in front of her apartment
building taken away faster: She wrote opposition figure Aleksey Navalny’s name
on the snow. That was enough to get it
taken away within a few hours.
According to a report on Ekho Moskvy
today, her neighbors plan to see if they can achieve the same results by the
same action – a wonderful illustration of how the Russian people can under certain
circumstances play the regime’s paranoia back against it and to their advantage
(echo.msk.ru/blog/echomsk/2145912-echo/).
